speed of light
There are times when I feel an overwhelming need to remember all the miraculous moments of watching Leif grow. I feel something akin to desperation to just hold on to these still frames, file them away, and be able to pull them out when we are all old.
Tonight Leif played in his bath, talking to himself and us, laughing indiscriminatly, and just enjoying. Suddenly he noticed his belly. He poked at it with one finger - poke, poke. Then he patted it - pat, pat. Almost like before that very second he had never noticed the presence of his belly. Soon he was clapping it, pinching the skin, and rubbing it for luck.
I can't beleive we just witnessed a human noticing himself for the very first time!
And today we were driving to Ballard, just to have something to do outside. We saw the Seahawks traffic, and decided to join. We found some parking, argued down some tickets, and watched a football game in the rain. Leif loved it, clapping and grinning at the roar.
Where is my camera?

Wow, Leif looks so big now. I can't wait until I can see you again Leif. I miss you.
Hi! I ran into your Mom the other day and got a Leif update + the news on your new place. Congrats.
Plus, I now must confess that I am a habitual Life of Leif visitor. He is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen, coming from of course, some of the neatest parents around.
It seems like just yesterday it was that snowy night in Seattle and your handsome little man arrived. What a year for you guys. You three are amazing + hope to see you sometime soon.

Thanks everyone!
Vi - Can you email me? I don't have your old email :(
I'd love to see you sometime Halli! Thanks for stopping by, per say.
